Me, myself and I (again)

Since I got my new glasses last month, I have been trying to take some more self-portraits to replace ones that I use as profile photos and such. And as per usual I have been struggling to take self-portraits where I a. don’t look like a gurning idiot or b. am in focus.

So tonight I decided to try to replicate an old self portrait I took 3 years ago:

Look at me

And here is my 2010 version (note that I have less hair, am fatter and my lens has grown too!):

A much better photo was taken by my brother James at the weekend using my camera and my Sigma 50mm f/1.4 lens at f1/.4.

So the moral of this post is that I should get James to take more photos of me; he does a much better job than I ever could!  Thanks James!

  1. Cool stuff mate.

Heres a tip and having done it myself it works. If you think you have put on weight on the face, loose the sideburns, they add a good couple of mm to the width of your face unduly at that too. Tis true..! Personally, I reckon you look gert handsome as they say in Bristol !

    Pete.
