Whipsnade Zoo - Part 2

Back in Cornwall I tried to write a blog post from our camp-site about our trip to Whipsnade Zoo. But unfortunately as the internet connection on the site was so awful I couldn't include as many of the photos as I wanted to. So here they are a week or so later...

The lions in the lion enclosure were having what looked like a very relaxing 40 winks when we arrived so I took this one of a *very* relaxed lion:



Complete cliché? Yep. But you've gotta love a meerkat photo when you go to a zoo, My first time seeing them in the flesh and they are as adorable as they look on the TV. They don't sit still for long though! I waited for about 5 minutes for one to pose on top of the mound and finally this little fella did:



We then hit the hippos. Two males were play fighting in the big pool and I tried to capture the "perfect moment" but didn't quite manage it. Was very entertaining nonetheless:





This last one was almost it except that I managed to chop off the top of the mouth of the top one. I don't Attenborough will be calling me up any time soon!
