While doing a rare spot of gardening in my front garden this afternoon I spotted a large spiders web and an equally large spider in the middle (the size of the web is testament to how long ago I ventured into my front garden!) Every photographer seems to have a photo of a spider except for me so I grabbed my camera and attempted a few shots.
I decided to use my Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 to try to separate out old incy wincy from the background. That was harder than I first imagined because the Sigma’s autofocus wouldn’t find the spider so I had to use manual focus. And the spider was pretty much at the limit of the closeness of the focus. But I managed it and produced these:
I then got him to move by gently nudging him with my car key and took these two, the second of which of was very pleased with:
Bitten by the bug, so to speak, I decided to head into town to try to take some candid shots of people out shopping. I haven’t processed these yet, so I will blog about these tomorrow. Watch this space!
