Tramlines 2012–Sunday

Simon Butler - Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny - Main Stage - Sunday

Wow. Another fabulous day at Tramlines and the sun came out today with a vengeance! Like yesterday I started the day off at Folk Forest but then I shot at the Main Stage for the first time this year followed by a wholly unexpected amazing finale at the New Music Stage!

At Folk Forest I enjoyed three bands / artists: The Lost Brothers (who I shot last year at the Cathedral), Louis Romegoux and Joe Banfi.

I then headed to the Main Stage where I shot the amazing Beth Jeans Houghton & The Hooves of Destiny, the energetic Frankie & the Heartstrings and the slightly dull Field Music.

I was then in two minds whether to call Tramlines 2012 to an end but I was persuaded to join a couple of the other photographers who photographed Field Music with me to head over to the New Music Stage. They said the Rolo Tomassi were good and very energetic with lots of jumping around. So I headed over to find most of the Tramlines photographers there already – this was a good sign, they must be good I thought! And they were!

But when they first came on I was surprised that the main singer was a slight, demure looking young woman wearing a black sparkly dress. It was only once the band started that I realised what my friends had meant as she turned into a possessed woman and started singing, shouting and jumping around manically as if she was a large Norwegian death metal singer! It was difficult to keep with her but I managed to get a few good shots…

So that is Tramlines over for another year.  It has been amazing and even better than 2011!  Roll on 2013…
