Richard's Leaving Do

I had an extremely enjoyable night out last night after work.  My boss Richard is leaving to join another project so we went out for a lovely meal to celebrate.  Of course I took my camera along and documented proceedings, first of all at the pub:

Then we went to the Milestone, a gastro pub.  This is Sheffield's only gastro pub and it was recently voted as Sheffield's restaurant of the year. So I had high hopes before going. Of course, gastro pubs are 10 a penny down south, but after over 5 years of living here finally one has opened.  I have to admit it was very nice, certainly one of the best restaurants in Sheffield, but not a patch on some gastro pubs I used to go to when I lived down south.

Anyway, we started off with bread and delicious olives:

I then had fish and chips (this photo was actually taken by Richard using my camera, see more of his photos here):

The Yorkshire caviare (otherwise known as crushed peas!) were delicious as was the fish but the chips were a bit of a disappointment.  For pud I had some profiteroles - which I forgot to photograph.  The profiteroles themselves were fine but the chocolate sauce was a bit too bitter.  So overall, it was an extremely nice meal.

But you probably don't want to hear any more of my food review so here are some more photos from the meal, this time of people:

So good luck in your new job Richard!  It was great working for you.
